Ardipithecus Ramidus: Rethinking Human Evolution

Ardipithecus ramidus represents news so important that Science magazine is giving away its latest online issue for free.

Basically, "Ardi," a 4.4 million-year-old, forest-dwelling hominid shows that bipedalism developed both before a larger brain and before our evolutionary ancestors took to the savannah, both significant surprises.

My article on Ardipithecus ramidus is here. Discovery channel will be doing a special on it Sunday night, October 11, at 9 pm Eastern Time.
